"Silica G" is a standard grade, unmodified Silica 60 with a surface area of 500 m2/g, mean pore size of 60A, specific pore volume of 0.75 ml/g, and particle size of 5-17um. The TLC plates contain UV254 fluorescent indicator. This analytical soft layer is bound to a glass support. It has a thickness of 250um and dimensions of 2.5x7.5cm. There are 500 plates per pack.

Alumina Neutral (pH 6-8) analytical, polyester backed TLC plates. The coating thickness is 200um and dimensions are 5x20cm. There are 50 plates per pack. Applications include: terpenes, alkaloids, steroids, aliphatic and aromatic compounds. To ensure sufficient adherence an inert organic binder is added to the aqueous suspension for coating. The aluminum oxide layer has a specific surface of about 200 m2/g (BET) and a pore size of about 60A. To activate the aluminum oxide layer, we recommend heating the TLC plates for 10 minutes at 120C.

This thin layer chromatography (TLC) plate comprises a C18-W (Wettable) Silica layer. It can be used in both normal phase or reversed phase separations with eluents from anhydrous solvents to mixtures with high concentrations of water. The relative polarity of the eluent determines the polarity of the layer. The Silica 60 has a surface area of 500 m2/g, mean pore size of 60A, specific pore volume of 0.75 ml/g, particle size of 2-10um, and pH stability of 2-10. The TLC plates contain UV254 fluorescent indicator. The UV-absorbing substances appear as dark-blue to black spots on a light - blue background. This analytical layer is bound to a glass support. It has a thickness of 250um and dimensions of 20x20cm. There are 25 plates per pack. Applications include: aminophenols, barbiturates, preservatives, nucleobases, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, steroids, tetracyclines, plasticizers (phthalates)

Cellulose 400 (microcrystalline cellulose AVICEL) with UV254, glass backed TLC plates. The coating thickness is 100um and dimensions are 20x20cm. There are 25 plates per pack. Applications include: carboxylic acids, lower alcohols, urea and purine derivatives. Cellulose 400 TLC Plates are coated with microcrystalline cellulose AVICEL. This type of cellulose is prepared by hydrolysis of high purity cellulose with hydrochloric acid. Depending on the starting cellulose and the following clean-up, one obtains cellulose crystallites with a mean degree of polymerization between 40 and 200. The microcrystalline structure of this cellulose can be confirmed by X-ray investigations.

The layer has an outstanding hardness and is abrasion resistant due to an optimized binder system. The plate can be easily labeled with a lead pencil for clear identification. There is an increased separation efficiency due to an optimized particle size distribution. The UV254 fluorescent indicator has an increased brilliance and a low-noise background which results in a high suitability for trace analyses.
